Interpretation of the YELLOW canvas

The YELLOW canvas depicts community support offered by General Motors

The interpretation does not represent General Motors, but only the artist's point of view.

The large figure to the left represents General Motors reaching outward to support communities. GM takes corporate responsibility seriously and has extended a helping hand to communities for decades including assistance to the victims of Hurricane Katrina and the December 26th 2004 Tsunami.

The cans give reference to the "Care and Share" initiative from 1983, which was one of the largest food donation programs, ever conducted by a private enterprise.

At the bottom of the painting a Tusnami and a hurricane are depicted in front of a blue circular shape. The shape represents the world; the Tsunami and hurricane represent world disasters.

Between the big figure to the left of the painting and the hurricane, musicians can be found: A tribute to Detroit's past "Paradise Valley",  an entertainment district where night life and jazz music were enjoyed by thousands of people. If it wouldn't have been for the car companies, no African Americans would have come from the South to the city, making it one of the United State's north's biggest and greatest jazz city at the time.
