Interpretation of the GREEN canvas
The GREEN canvas interprets the importance of environmental consciousness
The interpretation does not represent General Motors, but only the artist's point of view.
General Motors has shown its concern for the environment, and the safety and wellbeing of the driver, in many ways. The most important way to show this concern however, seems for the artist, to be the offer of environmentally friendly cars. Therefore, fuel cell technology has been chosen as the main topic for the GREEN canvas.
Fuel cell technology harnesses the energy that is released by the fusion of hydrogen and oxygen to water to make cars run. In other words, the only by-product of the production of energy is clean water.
The canvas shows mountains to the left and to the right and a river in between. Flowers are blooming on the bottom of the right mountain and people are sunbathing, playing and hiking, enjoying everything, clean and healthy nature has to offer. From the top of the mountain a half circular shape connects to the left mountain and leads to the foreground into the river. The shape consists of white and blue pieces, white representing the hydrogen and blue the oxygen fusing into the water that feeds the river. This clean water is enjoyed by plants, fish and and people alike.
