Christine Haehner Murdock

Haehner Murdock has studied fine art in Gemany and lives currently in Detroit. She works mostly project oriented and in a variety of media, including pen & ink, color pencil, and Acrylic.

She has been influenced by the cubists and admired particularly Picasso, but she also relates to Dali's surrealism. "For me, representative abstracts have to evolve from the correct realistic representation. If you cannot draw a straight line, you cannot control where you put your curve in the line."

Haehner Murdock has published an award winning book "Images in Stone. Detroit - The First 300 Years" in 2005. The book features 44 pen & ink drawings of Detroit's historic architecture and information and stories about the sites. It is available for sale and can be ordered directly from the artist.
